Twenty years ago,Vitra design began creating miniature replicas of their most iconic furniture pieces as a historical catalogue of the brand. this collection has grown to include more than a hundred pieces, perfectly scaled, detailed, and elaborately handcrafted in the same materials as the original ones.
this compilation of Vitra miniatures allows everybody to have the most remarkable Vitra pieces in their own home without occupying much space. they have become the perfect target for Vitra design collectors.
Some of Vitra’s most iconic pieces are shown here, in first place is ‘la chaise’ designed by charles Eames in 1948, followed closely by the Panton chairs designed by Verner Panton in 1959. Below them is the zig-zag chair by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, a chair that appears almost tied to a stone, showing the contrast between two primary materials and their natural condition. the Antony chair, by Jean Prouvé, designed in 1950, is displayed as a fragile object, sharing its nature with the bird standing on it. below it, the ball chair, by Eero Aarnio, created in 1965, looks like a sculpture in itself, perfectly accompanied by the two small cacti. finally, the series of stools designed by charles Eames, in 1960, seem to be chess pieces, intensifying their versatile condition.
